Prof. DeLugan Publishes New Book on Remembering Violence

January 11, 2021

Prof. Delugan's new book Remembering Violence: How Nations Grapple with their Difficult Pasts (Routledge 2020) examines the ways in which the violent legacies of the twentieth century continue to affect the concept of the nation and national belonging, and the role of new sites and practices of historical memory to challenge ongoing exclusions based on race, ethnicity, and indigeneity.  Based on extensive ethnographic research, the case studies from El Salvador, Spain, and the Dominican Republic are highlighted.
